Are you traveling from east to west and you definitely would like to see two amazing and active volcanoes? The green-blueish Ijen Crater Lake is the most acidic lake on earth, while Mt. Bromo in its moon-shaped landscape is another natural wonder.

Day 1: Ketapang - Ijen Plateau 

Our crew will pick you up in Ketapang Harbor. It will be a four hours drive to arrive at the home stay at the Ijen Plateau. You have time to explore the surroundings, such as visiting the coffee factory located beside the home stay, the Blawan waterfall, and swimming or relaxing in a small jacuzzi at the home stay or at the sulfuric hot spring nearby.

Day 2: Ijen crater lake - the area around volcano Bromo
 

Within 45 minutes you will be dropped at Paltuding, from where you start hiking to the most acidic lake on earth. You leave early morning though, around 4 am. It will take about 1,5 hours to walk the 3 kilometers up hill to the green-blueish lake. While walking, you will meet sulfur miners carrying heavy loads down to the weighing station near the parking area.
Once back at the parking area, you can enjoy some local snacks before getting back into the car. The car will depart to the mountain and active volcano Bromo.

Day 3: Mt. Pananjakan - Sand Sea - Mt. Bromo - Surabaya  

Again, early morning! At 04.00 am a Jeep is waiting for you. You will directly be driven to Mt. Pananjakan - the highest viewpoint - to see the sunrise (depending on weather conditions). The panorama of Mt. Bromo and it's surroundings is awesome at an altitude of 2,770 m above sea level.
After sunrise, the local jeep will descend and cross the Sand Sea to reach the parking lot from where you can walk to the rim of Mt. Bromo. If you don't want to walk, you can rent a horse (not included).
Then, you will change cars again and you will be brought comfortably to Surabaya.
